Dr. Caroline Long, D.C. is a native Houstonian who has been practicing as a chiropractor since 2000. After graduating magna cum laude from Spring Woods High School, she attended UCLA and the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she studied Psychology. She returned to Houston and graduated with top honors from Texas Chiropractic College. Dr. Long remains active in the Houston community by staying involved with non-profit groups such as the San Jacinto Girl Scouts Council (Board member), Buffalo Bayou Partnership (past Board member), and Texas Dragon Boat Association, which she co-founded. In 2005, she was distinguished as one of the Five Outstanding Young Houstonians and Five Outstanding Young Texans. She holds advanced certification in acupuncture, chiropractic pediatrics, and nutrition. She is one of only 4 chiropractors certified in Pregnancy & Pediatric Chiropractic in Houston. Her knowledge of alternative medicine and ability to easily communicate these concepts makes her sought after as a doctor and speaker. She lives in the Afton Oaks area with her husband, Patrick, and their daughters Victoria and Katia.
Says Dr. Long: "When I was 15 years old I was diagnosed with scoliosis by my pediatrician. Years later I met a petite chiropractor who told me that had I started regular chiropractic care when I was 15, my spine would probably be a lot straighter. Ever since then I wanted to work with young patients and educate them and their parents on the benefits of chiropractic care at a young age. Nowadays I also love working with pregnant moms whose doctors tell them that having pelvis, back, or neck pain when pregnant is normal and something they'll just have to live with. That is not true - there are so many ways we can offer natural pain relief."

Dr. Sherman Yeager, D.C. is a native Houstonian who graduated from Klein Oak High School in 1992. After completing high school, he then continued his education at Baylor University where he graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Graduating with honors Dr. Yeager received his Doctorate of Chiropractic in December 2000 from Texas Chiropractic College, with a specialty in acupuncture. Dr. Yeager is certified as a consultant with the Red Cross' "Protect Your Back" program. He is an active board member of the Diana Foundation and the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which are both non-profit organizations that raise money to be distributed to deserving entities within the local community. He is the current President for the Houston Junior Chamber (Jaycees). At a young age Dr. Yeager knew he wanted to help people improve their quality of life by providing them medical care. During his undergraduate studies he enrolled in a pre-medical program to help him establish a foundation on which to build his knowledge and skills of becoming a doctor.
He wanted to become a general practitioner, but quickly realized that prescribing medications did not always alleviate the root of the problem. Dr. Yeager began to research alternate methods of health care and quickly discovered chiropractic and acupuncture as legitimate disciplines that worked not only on helping people feel better but on helping them achieve wellness. His experience with holistic medicine and his compassion for others make him a highly respected doctor.

Dr. Alyssa Farzian, D.C. was born and raised in Lufkin, TX. She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX where she studied biology, with a focus in Microbiology. She played soccer for the Southwestern Pirates and, since being in Houston, has taken an interest in Triathlons. She competed in several sprint triathlons, and her biggest achievement so far has been the Austin Quarter Ironman. She loves the way that triathlons work so many different muscle groups. She moved to Houston to study chiropractic at Texas Chiropractic College, where she took an interest in Functional Medicine. She believes that the physical body, the biochemical body, and the mind have separate but integrated functions; therefore, all aspects need to be healed in order to attain optimal health. Dr. Farzian recently got married and celebrated her first anniversary at West U Wellness!

Ms. Francisca Hernandez – Office Manager
"I've been working at West University Wellness since July 2008 and I love it. As a native Houstonian working in the medical field for 10 years in both the private and public sector, I've seen how some clinicians can become desensitized to treating the sick or injured. I've never been anywhere so friendly, all of my co-workers are caring and considerate, the doctors really do care about their patients and it shows. From the attention to detail, to the accommodations we make for our patients, and even the thoughtful birthday cards we send that make our patients feel welcome and special. I think it's the little things that count. We find the time to ensure that extra step is taken."

Back pain, eye strain, ankle sprain or migraine...massage can help you sustain and a healthy life style maintain. "This is my motto and my mantra. I received my license from MRC (Muscle Reflexology Clinic) in Houston, Texas in 1999. After years on a nine to five desk job suffering every imaginable pain I sought alternatives to popping pills, surgery and psychotherapy. It changed my life and my career. I have worked in chiropractic offices, spas, dental clinics, hospitals and doctors offices. My residual knowledge from nursing school helps me understand even better how the body works so I can affect change to energize and revitalize on a cellular level. I look forward to making your first or next massage your best massage."
